What is the narrow gate and why is it hard to enter?

Luke 13:24 “Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able."

The narrow gate is Jesus. Jesus is the door to life: John 10:9 "I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture."

Why is it hard to enter? Because, outside Christ, is a bouncer called the law and Religion. This bouncer is bully and a thug and he speaks the devil's lies as:

• "You can't come in here looking like that! You need to get cleaned up before you can approach the Lord"

• "You haven't done enough, prayed enough, fasted enough, tithed enough, faith enough....."

• "Entering is not easy. Anyone that has done this and that evil can't enter"

Religion diverges attention from faith in Christ to men's good works. What a lie!

The narrow gate is not hard to enter because God has high standard (He does have high standards, but Jesus has met them all on your behalf), but because people are slow of heart to believe in the grace of God but quick to believe in the lies of self made religion.

Why only a few find the narrow gate (Matt 7:14)? The revelation of grace is still a big mystery to many that have only known the way of the law and religion. Why strive to enter the narrow gate? It takes faith, courage, confidence and boldness to believe in the way of grace and resist the popular lies of religion, to go the way of the spirit and not the way of the common flesh.

The narrow gate is hard to enter because, flesh has trouble receiving grace. Flesh want the way of Adam and the result is death. Only by faith in what Christ accomplished qualifies us! The rest is a junk! Grace and peace be multiplied to you!
