WATER BAPTISM IS NOW OBSOLETE
Holy Spirit baptism a superior, better baptism and better promise. Jesus is the end of the inferior baptism in water that whosoever believes in Him may be superiorly baptized in the Holy Spirit(Acts 11:16): "Then I remembered the word of the Lord, how He said, ‘John indeed baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit."
1 Corinthians 12:13 "For by one SPIRIT (NOT WATER) we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit(NOT WATER),"Once the superior (SPIRIT) of Christ came, the inferior(WATER) of John became OBSOLETE
Hebrews 8:13 "In that He says, “A New covenant,” He has made the first(Old) obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away." We have only ONE valid New Covenant baptism (Eph 4;5) by the Holy Spirit. Water baptism is now a falsehood and has no place in a life of a true believer in Christ.
Water baptism lost meaning with the coming of The Holy Spirit baptism on the day of Pentecost: The only baptism that saves is that by faith in Christ's death and resurrection and not that of water. Water baptism was symbolic of the present time baptism of Christ by the Holy Spirit:
[1Pe 3:21] "Baptism(Of Christ), which is symbolized by that water(Of John), now saves you also, not by removing dirt from the body(Of John), but by asking God for a clear conscience based on the resurrection of Jesus, the Messiah(Of Christ)"
These symbolic ordinances as water baptism couldn't make the conscience of the worshiper perfect: Hebrews 9:9 "It was symbolic for the present time in which both gifts and sacrifices are offered which cannot make him who performed the service perfect in regard to the conscience—These fleshy ordinances as water baptism had an expiry period.
"THE CROSS" or reformation time: Hebrews 9:10 ..."concerned only with foods and drinks, various washings, and fleshly ordinances imposed until the time of reformation." After the reformation time(THE CROSS), Christ resurrected with greater and better things as Spiritual baptism:
Here comes Apostle Paul himself after the people told him they were baptized by John in water, made them to be baptized in the name of Jesus before he laid his hands on them to receive the holy Spirit. Acts 19:4 "Paul said, “John indeed baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe in the one who would come after him, that is, in Jesus.”"
Acts 19:5 "When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus." Acts 19:6 "When Paul had laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them and they spoke with other languages and prophesied." Flesh had to be purified with fleshly things whereas Spiritual has to be purified by the Spirit: Hebrews 9:23-24.
