THE BELIEVER CANNOT BACKSLIDE - This is a very hard teaching for religious folks to swallow!]]

Whenever someone tells me of a backslidden believer, my question always is : How was he ever able to do that? from where did he pass? I grew up in church hearing so many stories of backslidden believers and I also grew up hearing messages from renowned preachers preaching about the possibility of believers falling away or backsliding.

One thing I am sure of is that once the message of salvation is poorly understood, the entire scripture is also likely to be misunderstood. Personally, whenever I meet a Pastor, I first want to know his depth in the message of salvation before anything else. Another thing I've also noticed is that once the subject of typology is misunderstood, a preacher will end up preaching garbage most of the time. Back to the question "can a believer backslide"? If you asked Noah that question, I believer he would point you to his Ark and ask you if anyone that walked into that Ark was ever lost.

If you also asked Moses that same question, I believe he would point you to the Red sea and ask you if any Israelite that crossed the red sea ever went back to Egypt (a shadow of the state of sin) . I believe by now, anyone who understands even a little of typology already knows a believer cannot backside.

LET'S SEE SOME SCRIPTURES

Hebrews 10:39 AMP "But our way is not that of those WHO DRAW BACK TO ETERNAL MISERY (PERDITION) AND ARE UTTERLY DESTROYED, but we are of those who believe [who cleave to and trust in and rely on God through Jesus Christ, the Messiah] and by faith preserve the soul." Do you clearly see now that a believer CANNOT draw back (backslide)?

Jude 1:24AMP "Now to Him Who is able to keep you WITHOUT STUMBLING OR SLIPPING OR FALLING, and to present [you] unblemished (blameless and faultless) before the presence of His glory in triumphant joy and exultation [with unspeakable, ecstatic delight] " A believer can't slip, slide, fall or stumble. Why? Because God keeps him! Hallelujah!

YOU MAY ASK BUT I'VE SEEN MEN WHO ONCE BELIEVED THE GOSPEL BUT LATER WENT BACK INTO SIN. WHAT DO YOU SAY ABOUT THAT? Again, the question shouldn't be what I can say about that, it actually should be : what does the scripture say about such?

Let's see the scripture

1 John 2:19 AMP "They went out from our number, BUT THEY DID NOT [REALLY] BELONG TO US; for if they had been of us, THEY WOULD HAVE REMAINED WITH US. But [they withdrew] that it might be plain that they all are not of us"

From the scripture above, we clearly see that it is possible for people to pretend or assume to be born again even for many years. These are the guys that "backslide".

A person who backslides was NEVER truly born again in the first place and we have many of them in church today. They quote scriptures, lead prayer sessions in church and even are departmental heads or Pastors in church, but they are not truly born again. A truly born again believer in Christ is SEALED by the Holy Spirit - Eph 1:13.

To be sealed means to be "LOCKED IN". He's in Christ and SEALED in Christ so that he CANNOT come out even if he tries to, because THERE IS NO WAY OUT and how on earth can one unseal what one didn't seal himself? Remember in typology, God was the one who personally shut the door of Noah's Ark so that no one is able to go out no matter how hard one tries until everyone in the ark was brought to perfect safety.

This is just exactly the same way God shuts or seals the believer in Christ so that he never knows how to go out until the end of time. Therefore, There is only one way in and no way out. So next time, when the person or devil tells you of the possibility of backsliding, tell him:

"You were SEALED by the Holy Spirit and there is no way out for you now even if you tried". There is Only One Way In and No Way Out! This is good news brethren. Glory to God!

WHO YOU ARE IN CHRIST

1 John 4:17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. When the identity of a thing is unknown, abuse is inevitable.
