THE ASSURANCE OF SALVATION
If you love your soul, please read this patiently to the end!!! You may say, I always like to talk about salvation as the finished work of the cross. That I seem to say the same thing all the time". Those were the exact words of a friend some days back and he was correct. I always love to talk about salvation. Why? Simply for the following reasons:
Firstly, when I read my Bible, all I see from Genesis to Revelation is Salvation - Salvation is the reason for the existence of the scriptures - 2 Timothy 3:15. I do not joke with this subject because it is the most important thing ever. One can NEVER be spiritually stable without understanding salvation. And with all due respect, I make a bold statement to say that any preacher who cannot properly teach salvation should please go back to foundation class.
Secondly, I say the same thing about salvation all the time because doing so is easy for me and safe for you. - Philippians 3:1. It's the same thing because what I say is the truth and the truth NEVER changes. If you belong to church that does not teach or assure you of your salvation, LEAVE THAT CHURCH IMMEDIATELY. Salvation is a very serious matter.
FUNDAMENTALS OF SALVATION
Hebrews 7:25 AMP "Therefore He is able also to SAVE to the uttermost (COMPLETELY, PERFECTLY, FINALLY, AND FOR ALL TIME AND ETERNITY) those who come to God through Him, since He is always living to make petition to God and intercede with Him and intervene for them"
According to the New Testament Greek Lexicon salvation is derived from the Greek word "Soteria". It means to be to be DELIVERED, PRESERVED and to be KEPT IN SAFETY. It is for lack of proper Bible study that one would think salvation could be lost. Salvation is eternal, it is by grace through faith in Christ, it is once and for all and it can NEVER be lost. A man who has received salvation is delivered, preserved and kept in safety until the end of time!
Some say it is possible for a believer to backslide and lose his salvation. But we all are familiar with what Jesus said about a sinner who gets born again. When a sinner gets born again, the angels rejoice. There is great jubilation in heaven. Now the question is: why must the angels rejoice? If salvation can be lost, wouldn't it be senseless for angels to rejoice over a sinner who just received salvation when they are not even sure if this newly saved man would make it at last or lose his salvation just soon.
Angels should have waited until after the rapture before rejoicing with those that are able to "make it". Let's assume a man gets saved today, Angels rejoice. Then this man backslides, angels get sad. Then this man gets saved again and angels rejoice. But then, he backslides and lose his salvation and get the angels sad again. Does this even make sense to you? Isn't this just funny?
THE AIR PLANE ILLUSTRATION
John 10:28 AMP "And I give them ETERNAL LIFE, and they shall never lose it or perish throughout the ages. [TO ALL ETERNITY THEY SHALL NEVER BY ANY MEANS BE DESTROYED.] And NO ONE is able to snatch them out of my hand"
When a man checks into an airplane and the plane takes off, there is no more going out for this man until the airplane gets to its final destination.
No matter how this man shouts, misbehaves or cry, there is no going out or going back for him until the final destination. This is exactly how salvation is. Once a man accepts salvation, he is SEALED in Christ -Eph 1:13. There is no going out or going back - Nothing like backsliding for him - Heb 10:39
WEAK IN THE FAITH BUT NOT OUT OF THE FAITH.
According to Hebrews 10:39, a man who has truly received salvation cannot backslide, NEVER! Why? Because God keeps him - Jude 1:24. The worst that can happen to a believer is that he can be WEAK in faith - Rom 14:1. Being weak in the faith does not mean a person is backslidden and has lost salvation, NO! A man who falls asleep in a flying plane has not fallen out of the plane. He is simply asleep and will still get to his destination.
Dear believer in Christ, enjoy this gift of salvation you have received. You are secured, preserved and sealed in Christ. There is no going back or going out for you.. I love to call it God's own sealed prison. We are locked in this beautiful 'prison' and no matter what happens, NOTHING can get us out - John 10:25, Romans 8:35-39. This is a blessed assurance of Salvation.
