THE DAY OF RAPTURE SHOULD BE GOOD NEWS FOR THE BELIEVER
Updated: Jul 5, 2020
BELIEVERS ALREADY MADE READY FOR RAPTURE
Ephesians 1: 13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
The day of rapture is the redemption of our body. It is when mortality shall put on immortality. It is the day of the full manifestation of the sons of God. It is the day where believers shall be clothed with their new celestial bodies and be caught up to Heaven. The scriptures say that we shall be changed.
This is supposed to be an encouraging news for the believer but unfortunately some ignorant believers have been taught wrongly and only become scared when rapture is mentioned. Rapture is preached as if that is when God will determine whether a believer will go to heaven or hell. They often say “are you ready for the rapture?” Or be careful not to miss rapture”. This is error!!!!
The believer is ever ready for the rapture. The day a person gets born again, he is made prepared for the rapture. There is no preparation to be made for rapture than getting born again. Therefore, it is an error to tell the believer to be careful not to miss the rapture. He is sealed and kept for the day of redemption. We rather encourage the believer with the good news of the rapture.
The Believer is never the one that Jesus is coming for like a thief in the night.
How many thieves have you seen who leave their own house or family and come back at night to rob them and take them unawares? And Jesus is neither a thief nor a robber. The unsaved would be taken unawares because they know not Jesus Christ lives in the believer, therefore the rapture won't be a surprise to him No man that has Christ in him would be taken unawares or by surprised by the rapture.
Salvation is all the preparation that a man needs for the rapture! But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. I Thessalonians 5:4-5 Comfort and Edify a friend with these words
Colossians 3:4 "When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory." APOSTLE PAUL ALSO CALLED IT THE MANIFESTATION OF THE SONS OF GOD. Romans 8:19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for manifestation of the sons of God. THE SECOND COMING OF JESUS CHRIST IS NOT ACTUALLY THE SECOND COMING.
BUT THE THIRD COMING WHEN WE SHALL APPEAR WITH HIM IN GLORY. Today the teaching on rapture is a scary message preached amongst the church. Yet in the early church, this teaching wasn't scary. Infact it was a greeting amongst the church. When they saw each other, their greeting was "Maranatha" which means "He's coming soon" and they rejoiced. Paul's teaching on the rapture didn't scare anyone. It was an encouragement to the church.
When persecution broke out in the Thessalonian church, they begun to lose most of the brethren in death. This discouraged the church so much because they thought those who died perished. Paul wrote this epistle to encourage them that those who died were only asleep and they will rise again in the second coming of Christ. He used that opportunity to strengthen the church with the teaching on the rapture. Kindly take time and read:
1 Thessalonians 4:13-15 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 WHEREFORE COMFORT ONE ANOTHER WITH THESE WORDS.
You can't complete these verses without the last verse in 18. He continues to say "Wherefore comfort one another with these words". What words? "the words he spoke from verse 13". What words? Rapture teaching or the coming of the Lord. The word "comfort" means to strengthen, to encourage or to admonish.
Teaching on rapture is to encourage believers not to scare them. Amazing isn't it? 1 John 4:17-18 17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. 18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
See, if you fear the judgment of the believer in the appearing of Jesus Christ, then you haven't been perfected in His love. There is no fear in the love of God. We have no fear because we are the sons of God and this is our conviction: 1 John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
Paul puts it this way: Colossians 3:3-4 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. Beloved be bold and certain about this, Jesus will never leave you nor forsake you. The Christ appearing the second time is not different from the Christ in you. You're blessed.
