Not everything in the bible is "the word" of God!!!
Updated: Jun 17, 2020
Satan spoke, false prophets spoke, mere men spoke, kings spoke, demons spoke etc... even most prophets of God lied and said "God said". That is why Jesus would say..."howbeit when he, the spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth..." John: 16:13. That means not all that the prophets spoke is true. Infact, the entire [613 laws] law of Moses wasn't the word of God, that is why Jesus [the word] went about correcting him and others when he arrived.
Example... Matthew 5:38-39 ye have heard that it hath been said, an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: but I say unto you, that ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
Other misleading lies from prophets include verses like: Isaiah 45:7 “I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the lord do all these things”. God didn’t and has never created evil!! Isaiah lied here!
1 Samuel 16:14 “but the spirit of the lord departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the lord troubled him”, as if God has become a distributor of evil spirits! This is not true! Not all that prophets penned down was a statement of truth. Why? Because OT prophets didn’t have accurate revelation of God and their revelation was progressive from one prophet to another until john the Baptist. John the Baptist had the most accurate revelation. Where as many of other OT prophets would say “thus says the lord, thus says the Lord”, John the Baptist had the most accurate message: “……behold the lamb of god, which taketh away the sin of the world”. John the Baptist saw Jesus physically where as other OT prophets didn’t. That is why John the Baptist is referred to as the greatest of all OT testament prophets. Remember he did not even perform a single miracle!
I would say the word by say Peter or James etc. is subject to further examination or interpretation whereas the word that Jesus spoke is final. Read on.......
Jesus (God manifest in the flesh) spoke directly to men before He died on the cross where as Peter, John, Apostle Paul, OT prophets, Matthew, Luke etc. received the word and penned it down by revelation. Revelation was PROGRESSIVE all the way from the OT to the NT. For instance Apostle Paul had greater revelational knowledge than Peter; Peter confessed this in (2 Peter 3:15-16).
Apostle Paul himself prayed to know Jesus and the power of his resurrection ( Philipians 3:10); yet he wrote almost 2/3 of the NT. Brother Paul would say..."study to shew thyself approved unto god, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."- 2 Timothy :2:15. Some mixed gospel preachers will carry everything and throw to their members and end up killing people, quoting "thou shalt not suffer a witch to live-exodus: 22:18”. This statement contradict God's character. Jesus said something shocking in Luke 9:54-56 “and when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, will thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias [Elijah] did”? but he turned, and rebuked them, and said, ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of. For the son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them. And they went to another village-luke: 9:56.
And as we read the account of Elijah in 2 Kings 1:10 "Elijah answered the captain, "If I am a man of God, may fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty men!" Then fire fell from heaven and consumed the captain and his men"
ACCORDING TO JESUS IT WAS NOT THE SPIRIT OF GOD THAT WORKED IN ELIJAH WHEN HE DESTROYED MEN'S LIVES. I can give you numerous examples in the bible.
That is why scriptures must be rightly divided other than mixing up everything. "Rightly dividing" is the greek word "orthotomeo" meaning "to cut out a path straight". Jesus came to reveal to us the single character of God. Infact, Jesus is the revelation of God to humanity. Therefore, when you see Jesus you see God, Without Jesus there is no God.
The Bible is a Holy book (2 Ti 3:15) set apart by God, centred on Christ Jesus. Written by men from the breath of God (2 Tim 3:16) With a Christo-centric message (John 5:39) or containing the message of the word of God centered on Christ alone. The entire Bible is not the word of God as people think from their religious mind set because as we said before there are words of Satan too written in the Bible as written in the Text, it is the letter.
The Bible a letter while the word of God is a person (John 1:1, 14 Rev 19:10) We read the letter to know and not to do or live by it, we live by the Spirit which we have known through the letter who reside in our inside and not by the letter because it killeth (2 Co 3:6) but the Spirit is life (Joh 6:63). The Bible contains two different ministrations which include the ministration of death (the letter) and the ministration of the Spirit (Christ) (2 Co 3:7-9). We know that our God is light and in him is no darkness at all (1 Jn 1:5).
We do not teach the Bible (Letter) but we teach Christ (The Truth) using the Bible as evident. The ministration of death is the ministration of the Law of Moses (laws of man) or the letter, the ministration which kills when preached to men. Into which no man can be justified before God due to the fact that nobody can do all the 600+ Laws given by man every second of his life without failing in one. As you fail in one of the laws, you are accountable for all (Jams 2:10) and the wages of sin is death spiritual death (Rom 6:23) and transgression against the law of man brought physical death. The law of the Spirit of life (law of liberty) (Jams 1:25) has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death (Gen 2:17 Rom 8:2). The Law of Moses is not the Law of sin and death but the laws of men, transgression against this law does not lead to spiritual death (1 John 5:16). Transgression against the law of sin and death is sin unto spiritual death which is separation of man’s spirit from the Holy Spirit. This is what everybody should know when approaching the Bible. This is not to keep us away from reading the letter but for us to use it as reference. When a preacher is preaching the letter to the brethren, he is preaching the ministration that killeth (2 Cor 3), i.e. they are hearing and being happy but they are dying. Just like he is giving them an expiry drug reason is why it is call the ministration of death. The ministration of righteousness is the ministration of the Spirit (Christ), the ministration of life(Joh 10:10). It is the ministration of the revelation of the scriptures, revealing Christ in whom is found the identity of a believer. This is the secrete hiding from the ages but is now revealed unto us freely (Eph 3:5, Heb 1:1), Christ in you the hope of glory (Col 1:27). Religion can never take this away from us; neither do they know because unto them it is not given. Praise God!
The Bible must be rightly divided or handled (2 Tim 2:15).
