No man needs a license to do evil. The fallen state of man affords him that. Any man who is still a custodian of the Adamic Nature is a Licensed sinner from birth, sin is his nature. Grace is Gods cure for sin. John the baptist, the last prophet of the Old Testament puts it like this, “The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” John 1:29.

So no mortal man can defeat sin except he beholds and receives this lamb of God who is the embodiment of grace! “And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.” John 1:14. When a man receives Jesus who is grace, the coming of Christ into him removes that sinful nature completely and the nature of sonship takes over that man and that man is no longer a sinner but a son of God! “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” John 1:12

ontrary to the legalist claims, grace is the final cure for sin, not the law. When you receive that grace, what Jesus the lamb of God did in his death, burial and resurrection, you experience it, the adoption of sons! “For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.” Romans 6:14. Under the law sin has dominion whereas under grace sin has no dominion over a believer.

The Increase of sin cannot make Grace of no effect. “Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:” Romans 5:20 . GRACE CURES SIN. Grace therefore is not a license to sin. Grace is an empowerment to reign over all the things we couldn't be Free from under the Administration of Death (The Law)!!! It is the increase of the revelation of Jesus (Grace) that nullifies and makes Sin of no effect. “Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;" 1 Peter 1:13.

What makes men free is the knowledge of the truth, not struggling to behave right, but the knowledge of the PERSON of JESUS Christ as revealed in the scriptures. “Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.” 1 Timothy 2:4 . Why is the truth so Important? "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:32

“For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth (which is truth) came by Jesus Christ.” John 1:17 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6. So Grace finds expression in the person of Jesus. The truth is a person. His name is Jesus Christ. He is Grace Personified!!! Grace is a person living his life through you.

So Jesus is the Truth that makes men free!!! This Freedom is evidenced by the workings of the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus whose power creates within you the desire to do His gracious will and also brings about the accomplishment of the desire. “Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” Philippians 2:12-13.

We only stumble when we shift our gaze from Jesus (The Author and Finisher of our Faith). So a believer that continues in the actions of sin is living in denial. He is suffering from Identity crisis and double mindedness because he lacks a clear revelation of Jesus. Hence he has mental agitation. He has forgotten who he is & how he looks. "He is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was." James 1:23.

When a believer is struggling with falling he is in identity crisis. He needs a constant revelation of Jesus (GRACE) because that is what can unveil his true identity. “...because as he is, so are we in this world.” 1 John 4:17(b). else where the bible says “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 3:18.

Grace is no more a license to sin, than life insurance is a good reason to go and swim with starving Crocodiles! Of course you could go and swim with them but it’s going to hurt. Just like in grace, you could go and sin, but it’s going to hurt you and others too. The reality is that sin is distracting and destructive to your life and will always cost you something you don’t want to pay, and take you somewhere you don’t want to go.

If someone really wanted to use grace as a license to sin, it is a strong indicator that this person is probably not born again. GRACE TEACHES BORN-AGAIN CHRISTIANS TO SAY “NO” TO UNGODLINESS (TITUS 2:12). God’s grace accepts us even though we’ve sinned, but it empowers us to overcome sin. A truly born again person isn’t looking for a way to get away with sin, they’re looking for a way to get sin away from them! This is because God has changed their heart. When we think about grace we shouldn’t think “it’s a license to sin”, we should think “it’s a license to overcome sin!”

Romans chapters 5 and 6 really bring this out clearly. THERE IS NO SCRIPTURE AFTER THE CROSS THAT TELLS BELIEVERS TO CONFESS ASK FOR FORGIVENESS. Why? Because a believer is already forgiven!! You will never come across believers after the cross, confessing their sins and asking for forgiveness. What the believer requires to do is to renew his mind( Rom 12:1-2) even after he has messed up.
