UNDERSTANDING SALVATION AND WHY YOU CAN NEVER LOSE IT. Please once again, because of the controversy that goes with the doctrine of eternal security (once saved, forever saved), I would like to reiterate that we follow this topic patiently. Come with open mind and a sincere heart.

The reason why many Christians think they can lose their salvation because of sin is because they were never properly taught what salvation is. To them, salvation is all about coming out to the alter and giving their lives to Christ ( A life they don't even have in the first place - Eph 2:8 ) and 'try' to live right .

I've also noticed something very common amongst those who do not believe in eternal salvation through my discussion with them - They do not understand the work of salvation. Getting born again in November 1996 was a wonderful experience for me. But shortly after then, I found out becoming a born again Christian was not exactly what I thought it to be.

I had thought that when one is born again, he automatically becomes a good guy and sin leaves him completely so that he now begins to live a 'sinless' life. I was wrong! Nobody told me I was wrong, I found out myself. Like every genuinely born again Christian, I desired to please God and to live right. But I still found myself falling into the same sin over and over again. Because I was not rightly taught, I almost began to doubt my salvation. I didn't understand salvation. I thought salvation was all about character modification

I never knew salvation is NOT character modification but LIFE TRANSFORMATION. But thank God... I was NEVER a better Christian until I understood eternal security. Oh what joy to know I can NEVER go to hell no matter what! This is because I do not keep myself and I do not even try to. I do not have the wherewithal or capacity to do so. God keeps me – Jude 24:25. But do I continue to swim in sin because now I know that even sin itself, no matter how big CANNOT take me to hell? No of course.

A correct understanding of what the Bible teaches about salvation will lead us to see that SALVATION IS ETERNAL (One can never lose it). Anyone who argues with this blessed truth is either in ignorance or is being used of the devil to try to belittle what Jesus did. All too often, our conception of salvation is very shallow. We think that being a Christian means that a person turns a new leaf, and decides that he is going to try to live better and better or that he decides to accept the Christian religion and that he will seek to live by its precepts.

But a careful study of the New Testament reveals that salvation when used in a Biblical sense is an amazing transaction of God for the believer, that IT IS A WORK OF GOD FOR MAN AND NEVER A WORK OF MAN FOR GOD. When a sinner gets born again, the New Testament reveals numerous transactions take place in his life. Since he is born into the family of God as a babe in Christ, he is not aware of all that God has done for him.

When a person is saved, he is in God (1Jn 4:15,16) and God is in him (Eph 4:6). He is in Christ (Eph 1:3) and Christ is in him (Col 1:27). He is in the Spirit (Gal 5:25, Rom 8:9), and the Spirit is in him (1Cor 6:19). All of his sins are completely forgiven, past, present and future (1 John 1:7, Heb 10:12). There is no condemnation for him no matter what (Rom 8:1).

He is justified and declared righteous in God's sight, not based on what he does but based on what Christ has done (Rom 3:24). He is delivered (Col 1:13), He has God's divine nature (2Pet 1:4). He is a son of God (John 1:12), he has access to God ( Rom 5:2), he has been raised with Christ ( Col 3:4), ascended with Christ (Eph 2:19), and is now seated with Christ at the right hand of God (Eph 2:6).

As we begin to see the wonders of God's great salvation, we come to understand that it is not something that can be turned on and off by the flick of a switch. IT IS NOT SOMETHING WE CAN LOSE BECAUSE OF OUR HUMAN FRAILTY. WE ARE NOT SAVED BECAUSE OF WHAT WE ARE BUT IN SPITE OF WHAT WE ARE .

We cannot be born again and again and again......... We can be born only once physically and we can be born only once spiritually. You cannot think that you are constantly losing your salvation and you are constantly gaining it. That's great folly!!
