Flee or avoid generational curse teachings!!
Updated: 2 days ago
Lamentations 5:7 (KJV) says, “Our fathers have sinned, and are not; and we have borne their iniquities”.
Advocates for the generational/foundational curse teachings will no doubt use the above verse to back up their case. However In 1 Tim 1:3-4, Paul reminds Timothy to tell the people in Ephesus to not teach "OTHER" doctrine.
"OTHER" meaning not the same as what he taught them. In the list of other doctrines, Paul mentions endless GENEALOGIES, referring to the incorrect doctrine of searching the past for ancestral sin and confessing that to God to receive forgiveness.
Not only did Paul tell this to Timothy, he also wrote it to Titus: Titus 3:9 But avoid foolish disputes, GENEALOGIES, contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and useless. (NKJV). Paul again mentions GENEALOGIES something that is be avoided because it is UNPROFITABLE and USELESS.
Why?1 Peter 1:23 says, ”Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.” God gave birth to us by His Word and as a new creation without past genealogy, we carry the DNA of God. There is no generational curse in the new man created after God in true righteousness and holiness .
If you are born-again, your life isn’t dependent entirely on human blood: ”But as many as received him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: WHICH WERE BORN, NOT OF BLOOD, NOR OF THE WILL OF THE FLESH, NOR OF THE WILL OF MAN, BUT OF GOD” (John 1:12-13).
The human life you received from your parents has been replaced/supplanted, by the divine life of Christ. There is no sickness or disease or curse or evil alter/foundation that escaped the redemptive work of Christ.
